Ich hatte Garmin folgendes in holprigen englisch geschrieben:
ZitatAlles anzeigenNow I own a new GPSmap278, I run it in german language. Press find, address (Adressen) and you get the search mask for address.
You see:
Suchgebiet
Anzahl
Strasse
'Anzahl' is a translation error. This should mean the house number of the street. Please fix this in the next release. Ist already part of jokes here in german BBS.
The next bug is relatet to same mask. If you run the GPSmap278 with any kind of insert datacard the field 'Suchgebiet' only contains Stadt (town) and Provinz/Bundesland, the PLZ (zip) is gone. If you remove the datacard the PLZ (zip) comes up again.
The next problem is related to the routing. I setup the device to bicycle, avoid highways (fernstraßen vermeiden) and plan a testroute in germany from Berlin to Munic. Let the device calculate the best route. The result bring me with the bicycle after some kilometer to the next highway .... The same happen if you set it up to walking mode. Both, bycicle and people, are not allowed on highwayss in any kind! This cannot be in any kind. The device should know this if it setup to this profiles and avoid this kind of streets by it own.
And another problem. We in Europe, especially in Germany, have the following types of roads:
Autobahn (Freeway/Expressway/Interstate) Fernstraßen/Bundestraßen (Highways) Landstraßen (countryside highway/country road/rural road) Kreisstraßen (county road)
Maybe now you can see the problem with a US based Road-System in this device. Lot of people use the 27x series here in Europe on a motorbike. Ist a very nice device for driving with it. But motorbike ridingin europe will most time avoid Freeways but use highways. There is no way to tell the GPSmap to do this. The information of the street type exists in the map but you cant use it.
Nearly every cheap GPS device from an electronic dealer thats build for european use have such a feature. If you tell that device dont use freeways it dont use it but it use highways. All Garmin devices I know ignoring this. You can only setup avoid highways and the device brings you down to the smallest streets.
This is part of big discussions here in Germany. It would be very nice if you take a closer look on this. The GPSmap278 is build for Europe (preload Euro) and should consider this. We dont need the option 'car pool lanes'. This dont exists here. Give use the avoid options 'Freeway' and 'Highway' separatly and tell the device to consider this.
An other long term bug is related to avoid u-turns. If you use the device in the Alps and drive serpentines a curve with 180 degree can be interpreted as u-turn. If you plan routes along such streets and setup avoid uturn it cann happen tha the router use an other way. Test show that this will most time happen if in a 180 degree serpentine a small way begins (unfortified street).
Heute kam eine Antwort!
ZitatAlles anzeigenI have sent the notes you have passed me to the relevant departments;
I am not sure there is much we can do about the classes of roads, all the Garmin units are the same and I guess it would take a major rework of the software to incorporate this.
However, now the engineers are aware of this, they may well take this into consideration in the production of the next generation of Garmin devices.
With regards to the Bicycle/Pedestrian mode; There is a turns limit in the memory when working out a route. The unit uses the main roads so that the number of turns, are in the memory's limit. Does the unit route you on major roads if you were to calculate a shorter route?
Please let me know if you would like any further assistance
Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe
Hat jemand einen Vorschlag was ich dazu Antworten soll?
